Mural in the making

I've been working on my first mural these past couple of weeks.  I was inspired by Oregon's landscape and Bigfoot.  I'm painting this in my friend's basement where she built a little room with a window facing the mural. So far, I think I like it.

  1. I love all the shades of green. definately an Oregon landscape. The two trees in the foreground are excellent and when I first looked at these pictures I thought they were leaves you had set down on the painting. They add alot of depth. When I look at bigfoot, I'm thinking more about chewbacca. Maybe bigfoot is just some tall guy running around in a chewbacca costume out in the woods. I think I would be cool with that. I feel the brighter colors and thicker brush strokes on the closer trees were a good choice because it helps them stand out against the background trees. I don't know if the sky is painted, or that's just the light but it has an oregon vibe too. I like the white tree trunk in the mix with the blacks and browns of the others especially since it seems to accentuate the figure of bigfoot down at the bottom. It's certainly a focal point. A great treasure to find looking through a window. it's kinda doing crazy things with my mind right now.
