Rachel, this painting of Francis looks beautiful! A kickback to your thesis portraits. The only criticism I have is the halo effect happening between the background and Francis. Everything about the figure is great: the variety of color, texture and quality of the paint, the highlights and shadows, and the expression in the face. I can't really tell what's in the background apart from the sand, but I do love everything happening up in the right corner (especially the red line). A very loving portrait of your nephew. The title is also great, simple yet poetic.
